Grace is Enough

Have you ever woke up with a heavy heart, feeling as though you had the weight of the world on your shoulders and it was too much to bear? This is how I felt as my eyes slowly rolled open and I contemplated getting out of bed this morning.

I refuse to start my day this way, so before my feet touched the floor, I reached for God's wonderful Word of Grace and asked Him to remind me of the Truth. I asked Him to give me a revelation of His love for me.

When we focus on our problems or what we think we may not be doing right, we will always find a reason to feel condemned. But when we focus on Jesus, God's provision for our problems, the One who did everything right, and we remember that we are hidden in Him, we are reminded that we are righteous!

There is nothing happening in my life or yours, that God does not already have taken care of. God's Grace (Jesus) is enough!

Job and financial situation...check!

Health issues...check!

Issues with the kids...check!

A healthy spiritual life...check!

Whatever else that may come up...check!

When we are reminded of God's perfect love for us, we can live in His rest knowing that the hope of His great love taking care of our every need is enough. When we are resting we are not worrying about what to do, trying to work harder at resolving our problems or trying to figure out a perfect solution.

No, we are allowing His love to surround us, and we are trusting Him to make a way. We are trusting that all of God's promises are YES and AMEN!

When God looks at His children He does not see the imperfections and the shortcomings that we tend to see, He sees Jesus! When we realize this, we can rest, knowing that He is not trying to decide if we deserve for Him to come through for us. None of us deserve it, but Jesus does!

The righteousness and perfect obedience of Jesus is what our Father sees when He looks upon us! Now, that is good news!

I came across this video entitled The Good-O-Meter over at Amy Deardon's blog page. It is a WONDERFUL video that gives a beautiful example of the Grace I am referring to in this post. Please leave a comment as usual, but then PLEASE, PLEASE take the time to stop by Amy's blog and watch this video, leave her a comment and say hello, tell her I sent you :) it's worth it, I promise!

Daveda,

I look forward to getting to know you. We share the same prayer for this thing called cancer. My dad has recently been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer and I see you too are praying for this in your grandma.
Thankyou for your post today. It spoke to me on so many levels!

Problems, anything that gives us that "heavy heart kind of feeling" just takes our eyes off on Jesus and on what He had already done for us.

Thanks to your example of refusal to allow this kind of feeling to empower you and seek the Lord's face instead.

Psalm 105:4 "Look to the Lord and His strength; seek His face always".

There's no other way to overcome but by His grace. God bless you and have a great, grace-filled week!

"When God looks at His children He does not see the imperfections and the shortcomings that we tend to see, He sees Jesus!"

Paul said, "We no longer look at anyone from a worldly point of view." Your statement is a good commentary on that! Good post.

Loren, So thankful you came by. Yes, we are sadly, praying the same prayer. It is so hard to see, or in my case mostly hear, them go through this. But God will get us all through and His glory will shine!

RCUBEs, Thank you :) and yes, when we take our eyes off of Jesus, we will surely encounter a heavy heart. But Hs grace is sufficient!

Warren,Thanks again for your encouraging comment. Have a great week!

Amen sister! I especially appreciated this portion:

"I refuse to start my day this way, so before my feet touched the floor, I reached for God's wonderful Word of Grace and asked Him to remind me of the Truth."

It seems lately I am telling my kids, "If you want to have a fun day, you have to be intentional about it!" (We're hitting that "I'm bored" stage before school starts up again.)

So much of how we experience our lives are based on our own will. We can choose to reach for His Word and rest in truth or we can choose to focus on the problems and issues of this life.

Blessings to you as we begin this fresh week!

Will say a prayer for your granny - I have a prayer blog and would love to put her name on it. I have Loren's dad on there as well.

I love your writing style and am glad that I stopped in today. Wonderful Word from Him!

Shanda - For me the fight of faith has become a daily choice of do I believe that what He has done for me is enough. Great comment, thanks for stopping over.

Thanks for this Daveda! It pays to be reminded over and over!

Christy - It certainly does! I can't hear it enough!!! The gospel of grace is the only message I find hope, rest and freedom in. I want to hear it over and over EVERYDAY!

Daveda, grace is a tough concept to understand -- in this world we're so used to exchanges. Thanks for the mention on my blog too :-)

Good for you! I often fail in trying to change my attitude when I am in a "mood" and I usually don't even have any more of a reason than that I am tired. Thank you for taking the time to share with us.

Amy - yet, it should be so simple. His love, grace and power in our lives is a gift, not an exchange. I know I still have so much more to learn, but the more i learn of grace the more free I become!

Kat - Thanks for coming over! It is only the amazing revelation of His love gives me hope :)

This is such a great post! When we take our eyes off God and focus on the problem we become like Peter and fall short of what we could be doing.

We need to change that focus and keep our eyes on God and rely on Him to take care of the rest. He can handle it all and will if we only let Him.

Love and Hugs ~ Kat

Thank you for stopping by my blog and commenting. I came over to visit you and am leaving very encouraged. Tomorrow is my 30th birthday and although I would rather stay in bed, pull the covers over my head and pout, I am going to face the day head on. I am blessed to have had 29 already blessed and wonderful years.

heart2heart - yes! "When we take our eyes off God and focus on the problem we become like Peter and fall short of what we could be doing." God's grace floes best in the areas of our lives that we have learned to let go of!

Get Real girl - Thanks so much for coming over. It is something that we need to remind ourselves of daily. I love having people in my life including those in bloggy world to remind me as well!

Tara - HAPPY BIRTHDAY! 30 is not so bad, I did that a few years ago. Just think of all the wisdom you have gained over the years LOL! I am so glad you stopped by and even more glad that you are leaving encouraged!

Sara - You are welcome friend! We all need to be reminded from time to time, that's what the body is for.

Grace really is enough, even when things don't seem to work out as we hope all we need is His word, His grace to assure us that it all in control, I've been learning this lesson for the past few months and God's grace has seen me through those times when it seems like all that is left is to give up.

Best part is, he feels me with such peace i cant help but bask in His grace
