Jesus Is Wisdom

I recently heard a teaching on asking God for wisdom and my mind and heart continued to remember these verses.

1 Corinthians 1:22-24 "For while Jews [demandingly] ask for signs and miracles and Greeks pursue philosophy and wisdom, We preach Christ (the messiah) crucified, [preaching which] to the Jews is a scandal and an offensive stumbling block [that springs a snare or trap], and to the Gentiles it is absurd and utterly unphilosophical nonsense, But to those who are called, whether Jew or Greek (Gentile) Christ [is] the power of God and the Wisdom of God."

Jesus is the wisdom of God.

When we need wisdom we go to God and He gives us that wisdom, but our answer is always found in Jesus.

When we learn to agree with what Jesus says is the truth about us and our situations, we are flowing in God's wisdom. When we know God's truth for our lives and we align our thinking with His, we are flowing in God's wisdom. When we refuse to believe the lies of the enemy, and stand on what Jesus has done for us, we are flowing in God's wisdom.

I used to read the Bible looking for answers to my life. I am now learning to ask the Father to show me the person of Jesus. In Him I will find wisdom. In Him I will find answers.

I recently had some question arise in my heart concerning church, and as I went to the Bible I found myself intent on finding a fact or a clear description of what I was looking for. When God revealed to me what was in my heart, I closed my Bible to take a minute and ask my Father to change my heart. I want my only desire be that I see Jesus.

The Bible is not an encyclopedia, a place where we go just to find information. It is a place where we go to have a person revealed to us. In this person, this wonderful Christ, we will find wisdom.

Grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. When we see Him as our answer we will flow in Grace and Truth. We will flow in His power, and wisdom.

Are you seeking answers today? Ask the Father to show you Jesus. You are hidden in Him, this is where we find the wisdom and answers we are looking for.

You have touched on several great spiritual truths here! This is one of them: "I used to read the Bible looking for answers to my life. I am now learning to ask the Father to show me the person of Jesus."

Amen!

In interpretation classes I teach 3 ways people can and do approach the Bible.

1) Standing over it - studying it, drawing out lessons, looking for what they want or think they need.

2) Standing behind it - looking at the background, such as various historical and critical issues.

These two approaches can have value. We need to know background matters and we need to get lessons! But the life transforming approach is #3:

3) Standing under it. When we stand under the text we allow the Word (and God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit) to judge us, rend our hearts and shape us.

I thought of this when I read your post. Good job! wb

I think just getting to know more about Jesus is a great tool in learning how we can become more like HIM!

Thanks Warren, I always appreciate your encouragement! I think one reason so many people struggle with reading the Word is that they do not yet know that it is a beautiful picture of Jesus, and what He has done for them.

I liked your points and agree that they all enrich the Word and given us clearer understanding of who Jesus is and who we are because of Him!

Heart2Heart, I agree, we are hidden in Christ and as we get to know Him more we also get to see the wonderful work He is producing in us! Continually transforming us into His image!

The Bible is not an encyclopedia just for gathering information. Amen, dear sister!
I love seeing more of Jesus, love having God speak to my heart through His Word.

And, sorry to say, I had to laugh at the incident with your boys and the bike in the tree. Sounds like something that could've happened at my house. Glad everyone was OK in the end. *grin*

Irritable Mother - I love seeing Jesus too.

I thought you might get a kick out of that story. *chuckle* I find that families with all girls find these types of things odd...haha, go figure.

It was life changing to me when i realized that there was nothing to be found in the Word of God except Jesus! But if when I looked into the Word to find Jesus, I could find Him in every portion. And that portion is the answer to everything that I am seeking for. Jesus is the wisdom that we need to be truly fulfilled in every aspect of our life.
Great post Daveda!

Jesus is the Greatest Example in all of ways and yes, he is the Wisdom that we need to seek daily!

God bless.

Christy, It is wonderful once we realize that Jesus is the truth and we are looking to build relationship with Him, not find answers. Of course we will get answers as we commune with Him, and He speaks to us, but it is not what we look for.

sometimes, as in my example, I still need to be reminded that my focus is not on answers but on Him.

RCUBES - Yes! He is. The Word became flesh, I love it! Thanks for coming by.
